Johns Manville Asbestos Products Used on Airplanes

Johns-Manville is a company well known for having produced asbestos products.

Recently, we have acquired several aviation industry catalogs that include advertising for Johns-Manville products. These catalogs were published during the 1950s.

They provide clear evidence of the specific applications.

The 1957 catalog shows their asbestos products being installed on a Lockheed F-80 Jet Fighter, a J35 turbojet engine, on an engine of a Delta Airlines transport, and  the United Airlines DC-6 "Mainliner."

It also describes the use of asbestos gaskets on aircraft of the USAF and the US Navy Bureau of Aeronautics.

Currently we have the 1957 Johns-Manville Aviation Catalog and the 1958 Johns-Manville Aviation Catalog available for sale.
